The first floor plan of the house was reconfigured to suit client’s needs. The Dining Room was relocated to be immediately adjacent to the Kitchen. Pocket doors in the huge opening between the two spaces allow for occasional formal dining. In contrast to the specific work areas at the perimeter of the Kitchen, the 14 foot long center island allows for multiple and concurrent activities. Natural light continues to spill into the Kitchen from east and south windows as well as from adjacent new Greenhouse and Pantry spaces created at opposite corners of the south porch.
